Curt Freudenberger, M.D.
Dr. Freudenberger is an orthopaedic spine surgeon specializing in degenerative spine, spine trauma, disk herniation, complex spine situations and minimally invasive surgeries. Dr. Freudenberger received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of California in Irvine. He went on to obtain his Medical Degree, in addition to a Masters in Public Health, from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. He completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University Colorado Health Science Center in Denver, Co. After completing his residency, he served as an orthopaedic spine fellow at the Institute for Spinal Disorders at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Freudenberger is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is on the active staff at Crestwood Medical Center and the Surgery Center of Huntsville.
John Johnson, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Johnson specializes in the minimally invasive treatment of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, as well as brain and peripheral nerves. Dr. Johnson received his Medical Degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham followed by a General Surgery Internship. He then completed a 6-year Neurosurgical Residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center – Lexington in 1998. He is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is active in the advancement of spinal surgery through his participation in leading clinical research studies. Dr. Johnson has presented numerous medical presentations throughout his medical career and is actively involved with many Huntsville community boards.
Sanat Dixit, M.D.
Dr. Dixit is a board certified neurosurgeon specializing in the treatment of both brain and spine disorders with an emphasis on minimally invasive therapies. He received his medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine, and a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Dixit completed his residency in neurological surgery at Pennsylvania State University where he was Chief Resident. He then completed a neuroendovascular surgery fellowship at the Semmes Murphey Neurologic Institute in Memphis, TN. Dr Dixit has over 20 years experience in the clinical management of brain and spine disorders and has served as adjunct faculty for the Departments of Neurosurgery at the University of Tennessee - Memphis and University of Colorado - Denver.
Dr Dixit is fellowship trained, certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a champion of patient centered, value based healthcare designed around enhanced patient engagement.
Javier A. Reto, M.D.
Dr. Reto is an orthopaedic spine surgeon specializing in spine deformity, degenerative spine surgery, adult and adolescent scoliosis, as well as failed back surgeries. He received his undergraduate degree in 1995 from the University of Chicago, where he double majored in applied mathematics and chemistry. He attended medical school at the University of Illinois, Chicago College of Medicine and remained there for his orthopaedic residency from 2004-2009. Following residency, he completed a year long spine fellowship at the Twin Cities Spine Center in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Reto, who is fluent in spanish, joined the SportsMED team in 2013 after relocating from Marietta, GA where he worked for Pinnacle Orthopedics.
Dr. Reto is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is on the active staff at Crestwood Medical Center.
