Reproducible freezing and thawing of samples
One of the most commonly overlooked problems in analytical testing is the variability of pre-analytical sample handling, where different sample-processing and preparation methods can lead to different results Such variability means that it becomes difficult to compare results from assay to assay, or site to site. Of the various types of pre-analytical variability, one of the most significant is caused by lack of standardisation in cooling, snap freezing and thawing of samples. To meet this challenge, the precision-engineered CoolRack system has been developed and provides effective heat transfer up and down the temperature scale in a consistent manner. Each sample goes through the 0°C transition the same way, so that cooling, freezing and thawing processes are identical each and every time. The system rapidly adapts to any temperature and can be used for a wide temperature range, from -150°C through +200°C.
