Providing high performance solvent trapping, the user-friendly SpeedTrap incorporates a high power compressor running at -50 șC. All solvents, including water, collect in the insulated, plastic-coated glass vessel as liquids, so there is no need for the system to defrost. The progress of evaporation can be observed and the trap can thus be emptied when required. The collection vessel is removed with a simple quarter turn, allowing quick, easy and safe emptying. The novel cooled condenser coil is extremely efficient compared to traditional evaporator condenser designs: the cold condenser coils are suspended directly in the vapour path enabling solvent vapours to condense directly on to the coils and run off into the collection vessel below without freezing. This method is highly efficient offering more than twice the condensing power of traditional cold trap systems.
