We Do

Hand and Upper Extremities

We use our fingers, hands, wrists, elbows, arms, and shoulders for almost everything we do. Our upper extremities help us eat, get dressed, earn a living, create art, play sports, and so much more. Injuries to your hands and upper extremities can cause swelling, burning, loss of strength, and limit your ability to perform daily tasks. SportsMED is able to offer help to those suffering with painful and debilitating conditions of the hand, wrist, and elbow.

The hand and wrist are extremely complex structures. The hand alone is made up of 27 bones, 29 joints, and at least 123 ligaments. Highly complex anatomy requires highly skilled orthopedic specialists. The hand and upper extremity specialists at SportsMED offer the most effective and advanced treatment options to help you return to your regular activities pain free. If a painful hand, wrist, or elbow is affecting your ability to grip, lift, reach, push, or pull, SportsMED can help.

Some of the most common hand, wrist, and elbow conditions we treat include:

  • Arthritis
  • Basil joint arthritis
  • Buckle fracture
